Cool place

Your average Warehouse type bar. Mostly a lesbian bar. Cool place though.

Too far for Raleigh's GLBT community to travel ...

I am sure the mostly women clientle enjoy the atmosphere at Steel Blue. The owners have invested lots of money into the building they occupy. The problem is the location is to far for the Raleigh / Wake County GLBT community to travel to and really enjoy and then have to drive back late at night. Club Steel Blue is mostly associated with Durham's Lesbian community ... which is great foir them ... I will not be visiting this club again, there are better and more convienient bars, nightclubs and resturants over in Raleigh for me. I do wish them luck in their out of the way location in Durham.

Yeah! So glad it's here...

This place ROCKS! By far the best LGBT club in the area. It's huge, has two pool rooms, a mezzanine that wraps around the entire club, and the drinks are reasonably priced. Yes, the members are mostly women ~but I totally don't get why the boys aren't checking it out too.

Ups and Downs

Mostly women clientele. Though they are scheduling more events to attract men. Undoubted the largest and best dance floor in the area. Dj Awsum is awesome. However, they have a dress code (no baggy clothing and no do-rags) that is controversial and racist. Lot of people do not go to the bar because of this.
