Hello everyone! While many of you are regulars to Fifteen (formerly called Warhol) in downtown Raleigh, we want to personally invite you to a special evening of fun, food, and fundraising for a non-profit based here in the Triangle, Safe Schools NC.
Safe Schools NC is dedicated to combating bullying in schools, specifically against LGBTQ youth. They provide outreach, education, resources, and support to help students and parents facing bullying in their own schools, they work with local Gay-Straight Alliances in high schools to help them know their rights, and they keep their website stocked with resources and helpful links and information on everything from pride events to positive LGBTQ films and books!
However, all this work does take money. The organization is volunteer-based, and this benefit is designed to help them raise money to continue their work and to restart worthy projects, such as sending school principals books on LGBTQ students and issues.
A suggested donation of $10 at the door is encouraged, and some appetizers will be provided for all. We're also going to raffle off a couple of items, so be sure to be there! You'll also have the chance to meet some of the board of SSNC and to ask them questions about their work. Many of us faced some of the same issues and problems as a child that they are trying to combat for this generation of students. Please come out and show your support!
**Please note the event is for those age 21 and up!
