Dr. Charles “Chuck” Davis and the African American Dance Ensemble present KwanzaaFest 2016. On January 1st at the Durham Armory, the doors will open at 10am, Children’s Village to begin at 11am and the program to begin at 2pm.
All donated toiletry items (household cleaning products, trash bags, toilet tissue, bleach, dryer sheets, liquid dish soap, paper towels, laundry detergent, fabric softener) will be given to Genesis Home of Durham and all donated canned foods will be given to CAARE, Inc. This FREE performing arts extravaganza will take place on the last day of Kwanzaa which means Imani or Faith. In celebration of this principle, we will have health screenings (provided by CAARE, Inc.) FREE HIV testing provided by Triangle Empowerment, a Marketplace featuring local and out of state businesses, artist, community groups, kids’ activities face painting, food and plenty of dance.
Performance by: The African American Dance Ensemble, Ezibu Muntu of Richmond, VA, Patricia Taborn’s Modeling Agency, Versatyle of Greensboro, NC, Minister Fred Jones-Mime, The Unparalleled Dance Team-Hip Hop, Expressions in Rhythm, and a special appearance by Purusha Jones and the Miss Full Figured NC Royal Court.
